Mimecast Enterprise Solutions Engineer Will Present 'Anatomy of an Email-Borne Attack' at Cyber Security Summit 2018

Brandon Reid

Mimecast Enterprise Solutions Engineer Brandon Reid will present “Anatomy of an Email-Borne Attack” on Oct. 24 at the 2018 Cyber Security Summit at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

Email remains the biggest entry point into an organization, even in secure environments. Not only that, security threats are real and debilitating, and they aren't going away anytime soon.

In “Anatomy of an Email Born Attack,” Reid will review the current threat landscape for email-borne attacks and demonstrate an actual live e-mail-based “hack” in real time. Why and how the threat landscape is evolving will be presented, along with an explanation of how email can be used as an entry point in multiple types of attacks. Attacker methodologies, tactics and tools used to exploit computer users will be examined.

Reid is a Mimecast Enterprise Sales Engineer with more than 12 years’ experience in information technology and security. He has spent the better part of his career helping enterprise customers identify, structure and deploy cloud solutions. In his current position, he is focused on Mimecast’s Midwest Enterprise customers. His goal is to ensure his customers have a comprehensive strategy for e-mail cyber resilience that allows them to protect their end users from email-borne attacks, maintain availability of service during disruptions, and then remediate and restore their services afterward.
