The 2017 Minnesota Network of Hospice & Palliative Care Conference will take place April 2-4, 2017, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Bloomington.
Minneapolis, MN, March 30, 2017 (Newswire.com) - The creation of "Before I Die" walls has become an international movement spanning more than 70 countries since the original wall was designed by artist Candy Chang in New Orleans following the death of a loved one. The chalkboard walls pose the simple question "Before I Die I Want To ______" and invite participants to fill in their own hopes, dreams and aspirations.
The walls offer a vehicle for everyone to meditate on the stages of life, but they have special significance for those who work in end-of-life care. For that reason, the Minnesota Network of Hospice and Palliative Care (MNHPC) will debut its "Before I Die" wall next week at its annual conference.
The theme of the event is "Quality Care: It Starts With a Conversation." By providing a place for participants to share their "Before I Die" messages, organizers hope to help spark conversation about how we can better care for patients as they reach the end of their lives.
The 2017 Minnesota Network of Hospice & Palliative Care Conference will take place April 2-4, 2017, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Bloomington – Minneapolis South and will include keynotes, breakouts and exhibits focused on end-of-life issues and services.
The "Before I Die" wall is being supported by Midwest Medical / Rx Express and will be on display in additional locations following the conference.
The first MNHPC Conference was hosted more than 25 years ago, and since that time the event has grown into the largest conference in the Midwest focused on end-of-life and palliative care. Once again, the focus on this year’s event will be to advance the knowledge and practice of healthcare professionals and volunteers who provide serious illness and end-of-life care services to patients and their families across the lifespan, resulting in improved quality of care for the many cultures and communities across our region.
MNHPC is the state’s leading palliative and hospice care network. We bring providers, business partners and individuals together to increase knowledge, access services and strengthen advocacy for people living with a serious illness or experiencing the end of life.
